Purchasing Officer Full Time

• Advise Executive Management on procurement related matters
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders.
• Maintain an up to date database of approved suppliers/vendor;
• Maintain up to date records of all procurement documents and transactions
• Prepare tender documents in compliance with Procurement Act and Regulations
• Conduct supplier/vendor appraisal and evaluation
• Ensure delivery deadlines as per agreed timelines
• Ensure that purchases are done In accordance with State Procurement Board Act and Regulations.
• Recommend changes to purchasing policies and procedures manual.
• Implement all purchasing contracts or agreements.
• Supervise all procurement personnel
• Liaise and coordinate with all departments on procurement matters.
Qualifications and experience required:
• A degree in Purchasing and Supply
• A professional qualification such as CILT or CIPS is a must
• Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of technical procurement; experience of working In a technical environment will be an added
advantage
• 5 years relevant experience as a supervisory level
• Extensive knowledge and experience in public sector procurement including knowledge of the State
Procurement Board Act and Regulations is a must.
